The sketch on the right uses wire to form a human heart and veins. Somehow I want to use liquid as the second material but I'm not sure how I could incorporate it.

I really like your 2nd idea, the one about the human heart. I really think it would turn out nice. It would really look good if you used the liquid, maybe red or even blue coloring in water to make it look like blood pumping from the heart.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the liquid could be in a small jar or bottle and have the wire wrapped around it. Or perhaps tubes with the liquid going around the sculpture and through the heart. Where you thinking about having the liquid interact with the light in some way?
ReplyDeleteYou could have some type of glass inside the heart holding liquid in there. If you wanted it to be like its in the veins you can run tubing along all the wires used to make the veins. Or you could use tubing within the veins you make with the wires.
ReplyDeletePlastic tubing might work for liquid, with a hand pump connected, if you wanted it to move. They have different colors and sizes available at hardware stores or online. Plastic tubing could still give the illusion of liquid without actually having any inside the tubes. Whether you do a heart or a jellyfish, that could really be an interesting effect!
ReplyDeleteI really like both your idea, but especially the second one. To get the liquid effect you could use tubing and have the liquid inside it, I'm not sure how you would make it circulate though.Christopher's idea also sounds interesting using a jar and have the wire wrap around it, if you could do both it would look awesome!
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of the jellyfish. Also adding tissue paper will make more realistic looking. However I suggest instead of a flashlight use small colored light bulbs kind of like Christmas Lights.
ReplyDeleteThe first idea's really interesting and I think it would be nice if you used a gel substance for the jelly fishes' tentacles. On your second idea, I like the idea of using liquid. You could use tubing a and have the liquid flowing through there to act as a pseudo-representation of the veins and arteries.
ReplyDeleteFor your first idea I think that adding the light inside of the jellyfish would just take your project one step further. For your second one plastic tubing filled with liquid would be an amazing effect. If you got red tubing that could give a great look to it and wouldn’t be as complicated as actually putting water in the project. Both your ideas are amazing!
