wire feathers


My idea for the wire project is to make wire feathers to be put on a head band. My inspiration for this came from the feather hair bands flapper girls wore. I plan on making the feathers out of thin shiny wire. The other material I will use will be the hair band the feathers will go on.

    This sounds really beautiful! You can probably find wire of different colors, too, or paint/ coat them. You could also think about attaching them to a barrette, or mixing in real feathers with the wire ones.

    If you wanted to add something else in addition to your head band you could do a mask to go with it. Maybe a mascaraed style mask with a beak to go along with the feathers. I think color would do your project very well and probably make it really stand out.

    I love this idea, and your sketch is great too! I agree with Elisia the wire would look great if it was colored. I also think Jean-Luc's ides is something to consider it would be cool if it had a mask to go with it, but maybe not attached and each worn seperately.

    I love your idea, it looks very elegant. I think color could be important to your piece. The idea of a mask is something to think about but I think it could stand alone as is.

    I like that you're going to use thin wire, because that gives it a more delicate look. If you plan on using a lot of color, I think it would be nice if it was a variety of colors, instead of one sole scheme. I also think that peacock feathers would be a good addition, as well!

    The idea for your piece sounds very beautiful. I think that you should definitely use colored wire or get some metallic paint to coat them with. Adding a few rhinestones here and there could add a pretty touch and some sparkle.
